French beans
Ingredients:
- 500g fresh French beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 large onion, chopped
- Cumin seeds
- Ginger garlic green chilli paste 1 tbsp
- 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp coriander cumin powder
- 1 chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp oil for cooking
- Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Method
Boil the French beans in salted water until slightly tender but still crunchy. Drain and set aside.
In a Kadhai , heat oil, add cumin seeds, curry leaves let it splutter. Add chopped onions, sauté until golden brown. Add ginger garlic green chilli paste. Cool until raw smell is disappeared. Add little water so that it doesn’t burn.
Add turmeric powder and mix well. Add the chopped tomato and cook until it turns mushy. Add the boiled French beans to the masala. Stir well to coat the beans with the masala. Then add coriander cumin powder and salt to the beans.
Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the beans are fully cooked and the flavours have blended well.
Serve with roti!
