Tandoori Chicken Sandwich
Ingredients:
For the Tandoori Chicken:
- Boneless chicken breasts or thighs
- Ginger-garlic green chilli paste
- Lemon juice
- Red chili powder
- Turmeric powder
- Garam masala
- Cumin Coriander powder
- Salt
Combine everything and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Grill the marinated chicken until cooked through and slightly charred. Let it cool and shred it.
Ingredients (For Sandwich)
For the Sandwich:
- Bread (whole wheat or white)
- Butter
- mayonnaise and tomato sauce (mix them both)
- Tomato
- Onion (sliced)
- Cheese (optional)
Assembling
Spread mayonnaise-tomato sauce mixture on one side of both the bread. Add tomato, onion, shredded tandoori chicken and cheese (optional).
Grill Your Sandwich
Place a frying pan over medium heat. Melt a tablespoon of butter in the heated pan. Carefully place the assembled sandwich on the hot pan, buttered side down. Spread the butter on the upper side as well. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown and the cheese (if used) is melted. Remove the sandwich from the pan and serve immediately.
Tips:
- For extra crispy bread, press down gently on the sandwich with a spatula while cooking.
- If the pan is too hot, the bread might burn before the cheese melts. Adjust the heat accordingly.
- You can add a lid to the pan to help the cheese melt faster.
A sandwich is more than just bread and filling. It's a versatile meal that can be adapted to any taste or occasion. From a classic PB&J to a gourmet club sandwich, there's a sandwich for everyone. It's the perfect grab-and-go option, a satisfying lunch, or a creative dinner.
